The emotional fabric of a city like New York is woven with threads of loss and discovery.
Lost & Found NY endeavours to provide a platform for individuals to share their personal narratives surrounding intimate experiences of loss and gain. Beyond merely recounting stories, this project seeks to capture the essence of these tales — their texture, physicality, and the ripple effect they create.
The centrepiece of Lost & Found NY is a street performance that gathers narratives of lost and found moments, words, and objects. These stories are then projected live onto the façade of 726 Broadway, New York, creating an immersive experience for passersby. The aim is to offer a glimpse into the collective emotional landscape of the city, showcasing the diverse and interconnected nature of human experiences.
Lost & Found NY invites participants to reflect on the profound impact of diminishment and embellishment in the world’s busiest city.
Lost & Found NY was awarded the Graduate Student Organization (GSO) Grant by the Tisch School of the Arts, New York University. Collaborative effort with Vitor Freire (Brazil).
